I successfully won it recently TSMC This round of IT offers was actually prepared with Programhelp. In fact, I didn’t have much confidence in TSMC’s interviews at the beginning. I felt that the process was long and the rhythm was chaotic, and my previous interviews were often stuck in expression and on-the-spot performance. In this round, I went through the whole process from submission to getting the offer. I also encountered a lot of pitfalls in the process. There were even times when I felt cold. Looking back now, in fact, many key nodes can be avoided in advance, so I organized the whole process and shared it with students who are still preparing, so as to avoid detours.

TSMC IT interview timeline
- Submit resume → (2~4 weeks)
- HackerRank OA side (employing supervisor)
- Two-person/multi-department parallel interviews (may be carried out simultaneously)
- HR Interview Personality Test + English Test Reference Check
- Wait for the offer (maybe 1~2 months)
There is a point here that many people did not realize at first: the process does not advance linearly, but proceeds in parallel. You may have just finished interviewing with department A, and then the interview invitation from department B comes. Even HR starts to make appointments. Multiple lines are advancing at the same time, which can easily disrupt the rhythm.
HackerRank OA
HR will send a HackerRank test link, which generally contains 5 questions. The difficulty distribution is roughly: 1 easy, 1 easy-medium, 2 medium and 1 hard. Exam length is usually around 60 to 90 minutes.
Side 1: Employers (approximately 50 minutes)
The interviewer was a female supervisor who did not turn on the camera and spoke in a calm tone. She had worked at TSMC for about ten years. She first gave a brief introduction to the department: BSID is mainly responsible for ERP, SCM, HR and other systems. Due to the lack of systematic planning in the past, the overall UI/UX was relatively scattered. Now it is being restructured in a unified manner and is handled by a dedicated UI/UX team, so we need to work closely with them in the future. In terms of technology stack, you need to have Web and App development capabilities. React is mainly used for Web and Flutter for App. At the same time, the company is promoting MERN Stack, hoping that engineers will have the ability to independently complete complete functions from front-end to back-end (E2E).
Then enter the regular process: introduce yourself, ask questions around your resume and past projects, there is no particularly in-depth technical inspection, but more about understanding your background and experience. Then there are some culture fit-related questions, such as why you want to join TSMC, your understanding of the company, etc. They are basically common questions, and finally there is a question and answer session.
Side 2: Director (about 30 minutes)
The interviewer was also a female supervisor, with a camera turned on. Her overall style was lively, with a slight accent, and she could use Chinese and English interchangeably. It felt like she had an overseas background. She first briefly introduced the team and organization for 5 to 10 minutes, and then entered the self-introduction and resume questions, which also did not involve in-depth technical research.
The core of this round is a 3-5 minute elevator pitch, which requires you to explain your advantages clearly in a short time and let her quickly understand "why she should hire you." Finally, there is also a question and answer session.
HR interview (about 30 minutes):
The person who interviewed me was a senior HR who had probably worked at TSMC for about 20 years. This round did not follow the common "standard questions" routine, but mainly extended the questions based on the information I filled out on the official website and the content of the application questionnaire.
The overall atmosphere is more chatty, because I have some service experience since I was a child, and I am more accustomed to communicating with older people, so this round of chatting went fairly smoothly. During the process, HR also mentioned that I "have a chance to move to the next step" (of course, this kind of statement may not be of reference value, and many people will hear it).
After the interview, the subsequent qualification review process quickly entered.
